Biostatistics Seminars
The department's Biostatistics
Seminar Series (EPBI 503) is offered as a way for students and faculty
in biostatistics to present their work or other topics of their
choosing to an audience with a strong background in biostatistics.
Generally, the seminars are held on the third Thursday of each month
during the fall and spring semesters from 12 noon until 1 PM in
Room W-G73 of the Medical School, the department's seminar room.
The seminar series is organized by Jeffrey M. Albert.
Genetic Epidemiology Seminars
All Genetic Epidemiology students
are required to attend and to register, and others are welcome to
come. All seminars will begin approximately at noon, and are held
at MetroHealth Medical Center, in the Rammelkamp Building, either
in Room R219 or R419.
Graduate Student Seminars
The Department of Epidemiology and
Biostatistics Graduate Student Seminar (EPBI 501) is held during
the fall and spring semesters each Tuesday from 12 noon until 1
PM in Medical School E501. In these seminars, students in the department
present critical reviews of published articles in epidemiology,
biostatistics, and health services research.
Students presenting must give Donna Marine a copy of the paper they
will discuss one week in advance so that it can be copied for students
and faculty to review prior to the seminar. Please contact Donna
Marine at dmm33@case.edu
or in WG-57 for schedule information.
Health Services Research Seminars
Health Services Research student
seminars are held on the second Thursday of each month. The program
varies from month to month. Generally, the seminars offer students
a chance to get to know Health Services Research faculty and other
students, to hear about the dissertation and thesis process, and
to learn about career opportunities in Health Services Research.
This year the seminars will take place in WG-73 from 12 noon until
1:15 PM.
Research Seminar Series
The Department of Epidemiology
and Biostatistics presents a series of research seminars each fall
and spring semester. Most often, these seminars are held on the
fourth Thursday of each month from 12:00 noon until 1:15 PM in BRB
105; occasionally they occur on a different Thursday of the month.
The primary purpose of the research seminar series is to report
on planned or completed research, or research in progress, by faculty
and students of the department. On occasion, topics of interest
are presented by outside speakers. The seminars are accredited by
the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (CME)
for 1.0 category 1 credit hour.
Special Seminars
From time to time the Department
of Epidemiology and Biostatistics sponsors Special Seminars either
on topics of current interest, or given by invited lecturers. Please
check the listing for topics, locations, and times for these seminars.
